<br />
We have had a birthday, company coming to stay with us and more company staying with us. <br />
<br />
And I loved every single minute of it! <br />
<br />
I just havent had time to do anything else! I'm still catching up on my sleep and the time changing. I have finally managed though to put my blog on Facebook so "Like" me so you can keep up with me that way too! I promise I will be back in a few days or you can come hunt me down. It's Spring Break, I have "beauty shop" to do with my girls and going to the park. Or else they will hunt me down...and it won't be pretty...<br />
<br />
See yall soon!<br />

Yea I'm a strange one...it's been one of those days. One of those days to where Hubs looked at me and said, "In the kindest way I can say it, do you need to get out by yourself for a little bit?" <br />
<br />
Did I really have to think about? <br />
<br />
Yea buddy, see ya!!!!!! <br />
<br />
And that was that, I was gone for 4 hours finding some more treasures. By myself. No kids. <em>It was heaven.</em> <br />
<br />
Days prior to today, I have been working on our room. I'm not letting it out of the bag all I have done just yet, but I have been trying to add more white accessories to brighten it up a bit. I used to want everything so dark, so adding white has really been a change for me for anyone who knows me. So here we go... <br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><strong><u><span style="font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace; font-size: large;">*WARNING...PICTURE'S GA-LORE*</span></u></strong></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />

<br />
<em>Sometimes.</em><br />
<br />
Sometimes I go in there and I rack up, other times I go in there and I see <em>lots</em> of junk! <br />
<br />
That day was a winner winner day, I got lots of goodies. This was one of them. When I saw this, it had a twin, but the twin was broken and this one was just fine, so I picked it up, and it said IKEA on the bottom of it, so know telling how much it was regular price and they were asking $2 for it! I can handle that! <br />
<br />
It was originally white and rusted like no other. Whoever had it beforehand must have had it outside because there was more rust than white on it. It was dirty, the glass needed a good washin and there was dead bug at the bottom of it. <em>Gross.</em> But that's when my little noggin got to turning and thinking, "eh, nothing a little spray paint can't fix!" And in the buggy it went. Then I had to hold it in fear Sadie would throw it out of the buggy and break it. It's happened before...But that's another <strike>nightmare</strike> story for another time. <br />
<br />
I did actually take pics of this before I painted it, but I let Hubs take my camera this morning and those pictures were on that one. Riley is getting "married" to a quarterback this morning and I can't go due to her evil sisters that are home with me and for some reason call me Momma. *sigh. I'm missing my own daughters wedding. She looked so cute too. Hubs always gets to do the fun things while I'm stuck with these heathens. (I'm being a little harsh today, they spilled my coffee first thing this morning (BIG No-No!), yanked down some curtains, and Sadie stuffed Pop-Tarts down her pj's and when I went to change her crumbs went everywhere). We are going thru this stage with Sadie that she feels like she needs to stuff everything down her footed sleepers, I have caught her in the act! She's no longer my little Cuddlebug, she's getting into those Terrible 2's now and is a brat! My poor baby...Poor <em>me</em> actually. <br />
<br />
So anyways, off the subject, again. <br />
<br />
Here is my cute little lantern I did over, I picked up some Rustoleum American Accents spray paint from Hobby Lobby the other night. The color is Lagoon. LOVE this color! I brought in the lantern and scrubbed it until it was all clean again, let it dry and took it outside and gave it about 3 coats all together and this is how it turned out-<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pv29r1JdaVA/TWfJScYdzpI/AAAAAAAAAmA/h7Gk9dECTx4/s1600/lantern.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" l6="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-pv29r1JdaVA/TWfJScYdzpI/AAAAAAAAAmA/h7Gk9dECTx4/s400/lantern.jpg" width="221" /></a></div><br />
Perfect for nights out on the deck! I love my little lantern!<br />
<br />
I finally remembered I had a giveaway and went thru random.org this a.m. and the winner was Heather over at <a href="http://hezzi-dsbooksandcooks.blogspot.com/">Hezzi-D's Books and Cooks</a>. Congrats Heather!!! You won $35 to use at CSN stores! Hope you find lots of goodies!!!!<br />
<br />
And now for the wrath of my baby girl Sadie Rayne...*tear. These are pics I have caught in the act...so sad...<br />
<br />
<br />

I was busy all day long painting our room over and when I looked up it was 4:30. <em>Of course.</em> I hadn't made it to the store all weekend long so I was scrounging around in the pantry looking for something. <br />
<br />
<em>Anything. </em><br />
<br />
I had 4 kiddos hungry. And yes Hubs is being included as a kiddo right now because he was the worst one saying "What's for supper, I'm hungry?"<br />
<br />
I had some ground turkey meat already in the fridge that needed to be cooked and I had a box of mac and cheese. Hmm....<br />
<br />
Off brand, .39 cents babbbyyy.<br />
<br />
So here's how it all went down:<br />
<br />
<ul><li><div style="text-align: center;">Make the mac and cheese according to directions.</div></li>
<li><div style="text-align: center;">Cook your ground turkey (or beef), drain</div></li>
<li><div style="text-align: center;">Add in your taco seasoning</div></li>
<li><div style="text-align: center;">Pour your mac and cheese in a big bowl and add in your taco meat</div></li>
<li><div style="text-align: center;">Add 1/3 cup sour cream</div></li>
<li><div style="text-align: center;">1 cup of shredded cheese</div></li>

Not that it would have done me alot of good, considering I couldn't leave to go pick up anything if I did find something. I couldn't even get of my driveway. <br />
<br />
Yea I know ridiculous. <br />
<br />
I have never found anything off of Craiglist's around here, but of course I did this day. And it was cheap! I noticed the same lady had another table, but this is the one that I wanted really bad! But for the prices she was asking, I went ahead and wrote her about both of them. She had originally asked $10 for each one of them, but I talked her down to $10 for both!<br />
<br />
<span style="color: #990000; font-family: "Courier New", Courier, monospace; font-size: large;"><u>Fab-u-lous!</u></span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: black; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">The other kicker though was to see if she would hold onto them long enough to get me out of this house and go get them. Luckily for me, she did! 4 days later I went and got them! </span><br />
<br />
I brought them in and basically started working on it right then. I sanded him (Yep, this one's a boy) all down and cleaned him up and started painting him Country White. I did 4 coats and let it dry then got to distressing it. Especially on "his" legs! This is my favorite part of the whole table. It's what gives it the "Retro" look! I then brushed on Dark Walnut stain, and rubbed it back off with a baby rag (those work best for me!) and then put a protective little coat on him, and then I was done. <br />
<br />
And in love. <br />
<br />
<em>Jeff, who?</em> <br />
<br />
Oh Hi, Hubs! (as he is standing behind me rolling his eyes..hehe..)<br />
<br />
Here he is...My new love...<br />

Like soup. Lots of soup and chili. <br />
<br />
I did make these little suckers for an appetizer on Sunday for the Superbowl. When I told hubs what I was making he turned up his nose...<br />
<br />
Hubs: "Spinach....umm spinach balls...?"<br />
<br />
Me:"Yes, spinach balls, and they will be good!"<br />
<br />
Hubs:"Spinach balls with stovetop in it...?"<br />
<br />
Me:"Yes, now get out of the kitchen before I roll you up in a ball and bake you!"<br />
<br />
And off he went. Butthead. I got this recipe out of "The Blue Willow Inn Cookbook". And I just love this cookbook, its has all southern recipes in it. It's great for someone who has no clue how to cook, because it even teaches you how to boil water! I won this book in a giveaway actually and just love it, did I mention that already?<br />
<br />
So here it is, super easy appetizer, that I loved and hubs actually ended up really liking them too! I proved him wrong...once again. There really, really yummy dipped in ranch!<br />
<br />
Me + Ranch = BFF's For-Ev-Ever!<br />

I had no idea where I was going to put it, but eh what the heck, ten bucks, come to Momma! <br />
<br />
Once I got home with it I was looking at it thinking, ok maybe I could have done without this one, I didn't know if there was any hope for it. I thought maybe I'll just paint it and give it away or sell it...<br />
<br />
So I let it sit. <br />
<br />
Then this past week, I has cabin fever so bad from being in the house, snowed in all for days, that I went out to the garage and just started sanding and painting. And I didn't stop, well that is until I just couldn't paint anymore because it had to dry. Of course, I didn't take a picture of it before because it was one of those spur of the moments things, but it was an icky oak color that all the furniture used to look like. That same color. <em>Everything was that color</em>.<br />
<br />
I painted it white first, Country White to be exact. And painted again, then again. Then I got out the sandpaper and started distressing that baby everywhere I could. Then I applied a Dark Walnut stain on it, then rubbed it back off to give it some more character. The handle was brassy colored so I just simply spray painted it black a couple of times and then...<br />
<br />
I fell in love with it! No way is this thing going anywhere but in my house! I will find a place for it somewhere!<br />

</div><div align="center">Hubs, Hubbie, Jeffrey, A-Hole...My Love,</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">So yes this is coming a day late, but you know how I am and I tend to be a little on the late side of things sometimes. I procrastinate. I get it from my side of the family. Instead of writing this yesterday to you, (might I add on Groundhogs Day, LOVE that we got married on Groundhogs Day! Come on Spring!) I was curled up in a ball shivering from how stupid cold it is outside or playing with my I-pod. (Your fault, you got it for me, you should have known...but I do love it, <span style="font-size: xx-small;">since you ruined my last one!</span>) 3 years....Feels more like 9 sometimes, I think you could agree with that! We have accomplished more in a 3 years time than it takes some couples to accomplish in 9 years! Ya know kinda like having 2 girls that are 13 months apart. </div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center"><em>What the heck were we thinking???? </em></div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">We weren't but I wouldnt take them little hethens back for nothin! They look and act just like you. Very scary sometimes, I feel like you never leave the house because I have them here and the way they look at me sometimes makes me want to scream, you tend to give me the same look when I'm getting onto you about something! But you are such a wonderful Daddy to them and they love you so much and Riley, she wants to be just like you and watch and do the things you do. I could maybe one day be watching yall on WWE the way yall love to watch that together and go see them (while Mommy is left at home)! As long as Riley never drop kicks me, then we'll be good! </div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">I love how you grow out your hair in the Winter time, because its makes you warmer, really I think you do it to irritate me because you know I love your hair short. So that's why I just cut 4 inches off of mine. </div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">I love how you don't make me mow the yard because you have a "certain" way of doing it. Really I just love that I don't have to do any yard work but water my flowers, and you even do that for me sometimes too! </div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">I love how it never fails, every morning, there is a wet towel, boxers, and undershirt laying on the bathroom floor. I've only told you 500 times how easy it is to put it over the rack and put the clothes in the dirty hamper, but for some reason it goes thru one ear and out the other. You do it to irritate me, huh? It's a joke to you I think...That's why I leave my Uggs right in the way of the door so you either A. trip over them or B. trip over them. </div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">I love how you gripe about Homer constantly and say we don't need a dog, we have 3 girls, but really I think you do love him and he's a boy, he's on your side! I see you walk over there and pet him and talk to him. Yall are homies.</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">I love how you work your butt off at work and the minute you walk through that door instead of sitting down and doing nothing, you can't, because I'm walking out the door for work and you have your "little drama queens "(more like devils) that still have to finish eating, be dressed for bed, there's bound to be a poopy mixed in there somewhere, and tucked in every night and your still smiling when I walk thru the door that night happy to see me even though you would rather be passed out asleep. </div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">I love how you "forget" to take out the trash, especially on the mornings it's really cold or rainy. I time it, I know when your walking out the door that morning for work, <strong><em>you know</em></strong> it's trash day but your acting like you don't, because about 30 minutes later I get a phone call from you saying, "I'm sorry I forgot to take out the trash..again" I know buddy, it's already done, now I'm laughing because you are so predictable! Forgot the trash...<em>puulease</em>...On days it's nice it's always done though, so thank you for that.</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">Really though, I love you for just being you. You always think of us before you think of yourself. You're a hottie. You make each day worth getting up for. You actually do read my blog, so that's why I'm writing this to you. You love my cooking, even if I sneak in pasta here and there. You drink way too many Pepsi Throwbacks-pure sugar, honey, I guess it gives you energy! You let me decorate the way I want, and you laugh when I bring something else home to fix up, instead of gripe. You compliment me. You love me, I see it, yep you love me! Your stuck with me, so you better love me! I ain't going no where! I am very blessed to have you in my life and I love you more and more each and every day.</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center"><br />

<br />
Hmm...<br />
<br />
I am kinda not liking snow anymore. Boo on me, huh? <br />
<br />
Of course, it's beautiful, but the inside of this house is not when it snows out. I don't know why but all of us get major cabin fever and want OUT OF HERE! Maybe it's because we know we can't. BUT I plan on making the most of this day, or 3, as it's looking right now, and getting some stuff done around here! You can't really tell right now because I have been on the computer all morning long, Hubs is playing his X-box and the girls are strangling each other. <br />
<br />
Perfect.<br />
<br />
I went to Goodwill Monday to see what I could come up with before the snow storm hit and found a really cute candle holder for $2.00 and it already had the candles in there. I painted it black to match the rest of my kitchen and put it in my window above my sink. I love it!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TUg5VbXNQhI/AAAAAAAAAks/_oxedT_RIKU/s1600/candle2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="220" s5="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TUg5VbXNQhI/AAAAAAAAAks/_oxedT_RIKU/s400/candle2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">$2 for all of that! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I already had the black spray paint so there ya go! You can't get any cheaper than that! They might as well had just given it to me, even the lady checking me out was saying what a good find I had found! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Hehehehe...(My evil laugh...)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Sadie is one up on this snow day, she's walking around the house with her hat on.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TUg6N8wD2TI/AAAAAAAAAkw/VY8RuPRl38s/s1600/sadierayne1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" s5="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TUg6N8wD2TI/AAAAAAAAAkw/VY8RuPRl38s/s400/sadierayne1.jpg" width="220" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I love her little hat, I want one...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">And this is what is looked like out in my backyard about an hour ago.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TUg6cR2PjAI/AAAAAAAAAk0/htil0iKfGrw/s1600/snowsnow.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" s5="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TUg6cR2PjAI/AAAAAAAAAk0/htil0iKfGrw/s400/snowsnow.jpg" width="263" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">It's still coming down and the snow is higher now.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">*sigh</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Ok, well maybe I will get all bundled up and go throw a snowball or two.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">That sounds like a plan.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Hope yall have a great snowy cold day because it looks like everyone is getting in on this one!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Stay warm!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Kirby</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div>Kirbyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14078567074759189031noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6050144816255845626.post-89246685936710156392011-01-30T13:23:00.002-06:002011-01-30T19:15:54.209-06:00Cheap-O Cute Decor and Shelf!Well it's been one of those weeks that kind of just swept me off my feet with so much to do here and there that I'm wondering what the heck happened to it? Really, it's already Sunday? It's already the end of January, what happened to the past month? <br />
<br />
But with everything that has been going on I did manage to do over my shelf that I bought from the thrift store for $3. I knew it wouldn't take to long to do so while the kiddos were napping (Thank Goodness!) I grabbed my Diet Dr. Pepper and skipped out to the garage. When I bought it (Yes, I did forget to take a picture of it beforehand, dang it!) it was a light blue color, banged up and it actually had some different colors on it from I don't know what on there, I really don't want to know what had been on there, but I knew it just needed some paint lovin! I didn't sand it down or prime it just scrubbed at it a bit to get it clean and let it dry, then I took some of the brown paint I had left over from my side table and painted it. Let it dry, then painted it again. After it had dried I took the sandpaper to it and gave it a distressed look to have some of the blue peek out from underneath. Ta da! All done with that!<br />
<br />
Ok, now can I express enough to yall how much I <strong><em>HATE </em></strong>to hang a shelf! I hate it, hate it hate it! The plan was to put in our bathroom because I have one wall I just can't figure out what to put on there. So I hung it up and put my decor on it and was like "Dang! That looks really good, I think I'll move it into my bedroom instead! <br />
<br />
So I did...<br />
<br />
I went thru the hassle of hanging the stupid thing again, completely aggravated by this time, but it was worth it because I stepped back and loved it in there! Now on with the cheap decor I have on it, I absolutely LOVED this idea from this blog <a href="http://thriftyandfabuless.blogspot.com/2010/09/dollar-store-hurricane-vases.html">Thrify and Fabuless</a>! She had went to Dollar General and bought clear candle stick holders, a hurricane vase, rocks and a white candle and put it all together and it <em>is</em> <em>FABULESS, </em>just like<em> </em>her blog! (To learn how to do it just click on the her link, easy peasy stuff right there!) So I took my butt on down to Dollar General and made one myself, I love it so much I'm going to make another one! Total cost for it all was $2.50 for the vase, $1 for the candle stick holder, $1 for the bag of rocks, and I already had a white candle here, so $4.50!!!! FANTASTIC!<br />
<br />
I went to Hobby Lobby this past week to ya know "browse" around, but you know how that goes, kinda like going into Walmart, you <em>have</em> to buy something and never leave empty handed, if you can do it, then God Bless You! Because I can't! So I came across this sign that said "Grow old with me, the best is yet to be" Aww that's so sweet, huh? And it would be perfect-o on my shelf! <br />
<br />
I have a feeling the best is not yet to be just yet, I smell a little baby girl running around here laughing, and it definitely is not roses that I'm smelling....*sigh.<br />
<br />
Ok back to the decor...I don't want to disgust you any longer...<br />
<br />
While I was at the Dollar General I came across some fake...umm.... I guess I'll go with grass and sticks...for a dollar each and was thinking, yep, I can do something with that! I bought another hurricane vase from Goodwill a couple of weeks ago for $1 and so I put the rest of my rocks in there, I need to get some more of them things, I guess I could walk outside and gather some, but ehh to much work...I'm lazy today. I put them in there with my "grass and sticks" and there ya go, $3.00 for the whole thing! I placed it on my table next to my bed and there is a 97.9% chance it will get knocked over from little hands grabbing at it but I like it to much, I'll take the risk, luckily it's so cheap it can be replaced if need be...*sigh again...<br />
<br />
So here they are...<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TUW5ZuRa68I/AAAAAAAAAkk/3nnfZbJl6fw/s1600/shelf.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="237" s5="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TUW5ZuRa68I/AAAAAAAAAkk/3nnfZbJl6fw/s400/shelf.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

I'm actually going to do it over black and white and get a different frame for it. Any other ideas of what I might could put on there???</div><br />

Ok yes, I am kinda like a vampire, I like everything dark but when I turn on the lamp and it really doesn't help out to much and I have to squint to see what I'm reading, I need another lamp! So that is why I was on a search for a new side table, so I could add another lamp to let in a little more light in there. And to save my eyes from straining...<br />
<br />
I hit up Goodwill once again on a hunt for a lamp. A cheap lamp that needed another chance of life! And I found her! (Yes, she's a a girl!) Sitting there lonely, banged up, paint chipping, silver grossness color and leaning without a lamp shade. Calling out to me...<br />
<br />
FANTASTIC!<br />
<br />
I paid $2.00 for the lamp and a new little dress for her (the lampshade) was only a $1.00! And I LOVE her new dress! I didn't have to do a thing to the lamp shade! I already had a light bulb laying around so $3.00 for lamp! Ya can't beat that!<br />
<br />
She was a little banged up at the bottom and leaning so I got out the hammer and hammered it back in where it was all jacked up looking and tightened it back up again. I knew I wanted it to be red (I have a red accent wall in my living room so I needed some more red to pop out in there somewhere) so I bought some red spray paint in Cherry Red and painted her all up with 3 different coats and then rubbed a Dark Walnut stain on it and rubbed it back off to give her a little more character and this is what it came out to be:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TTxdGm6GyjI/AAAAAAAAAkY/cMZKd8VGxw4/s1600/lamp2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" s5="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TTxdGm6GyjI/AAAAAAAAAkY/cMZKd8VGxw4/s400/lamp2.jpg" width="210" /></a></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">I Heart it!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">This is what she looked like before:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TTxdL9KQvKI/AAAAAAAAAkg/rzm4pIMBTnE/s1600/lamp1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" s5="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TTxdL9KQvKI/AAAAAAAAAkg/rzm4pIMBTnE/s400/lamp1.jpg" width="168" /></a></div><br />
<div align="center">Eek! Silvery grossness right here...</div><div align="center">I bet the people who donated this didn't know she just needed some lovin' to her to make her brand new again!</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">I actually loved the red lamp so much that I was sitting there admiring my new one and looked at my other lamp that was in the living room, I didn't say a word, got up unplugged it, put her under my arms, walked outside and painted her up also! I mean why not??? Just picture her being gold before...</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TTxdJ8Uc5XI/AAAAAAAAAkc/wfLYb79I7wg/s1600/lamp3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" s5="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TTxdJ8Uc5XI/AAAAAAAAAkc/wfLYb79I7wg/s400/lamp3.jpg" width="198" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I added her on top of that new side table I did, and I just love the red on top of the brown color! It makes it pop out a little more! Perfection!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">What do you all think? </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I'm looking around my house seeing what else I can take outside and paint...I'm on a painting rampage and can't be stopped!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

It's only going to get colder and I get pretty moody when I'm cold. Why? I'm not so sure...I just know Hubs stays glued to his Xbox and stays out of the the way. Hayden isn't in such a good mood herself, maybe because her hands almost froze off playing in the snow. Even more reason for Hubs to want to stay in another room, he's surrounded by moody girls all the way around. <br />
<br />
Poor guy. <br />
<br />
Maybe I'll go make him some cookies in a little bit, you know my way of saying, "Sorry, yes, I'm cold and moody" without just really coming out and admitting it to him.<br />
<br />
I woke up to snow this morning and a foot in my face (who else, Hayden of course!), we got alot less than we were supposed to. Which is good, because even with a couple of inches were always stranded at home because of where we live. It consists of going down a steep hill and back up another one and I'd rather not pay my $500 deductable for sliding into a tree or feeling like I'm on a rollercoaster just sailing on down the hill...<br />
<br />
Man I am crabby today...I apologize. I'll make you some cookies too.<br />
<br />
We did go outside for a little bit though. We had that good fluffy snow, perfect for sledding, so that is just what we did! My dog, Homer, was going full speed and hopping all over the place in it, he kinda looked like a big ole white rabbit in the woods, then Hayden chased after him and feel face first, which resulted in her taking off her gloves, then her hands almost falling off, and then a nervous breakdown happened.<br />
<br />
Time to go back in the house!<br />
<br />
I did manage to get some really cute pics of them though. Sadie missed out on all the fun, she was napping, but I don't think she would have really liked it anyways, she's kinda weird like that and would have probably had a nervous breakdown herself. It's too cold for that cuddle bug to be out in that anyways...even though my cuddle bug has not been so cuddly lately. Shes been a butthead! (Yes, I did just call my baby a butthead) She fed Homer her Pop-tart this morning and then got mad at me because he ate it. I don't like a 1 year old pointing her little chubby finger at me and crying. I actually was kinda starting to convince myself I took the pop-tart away from her and fed it to him. <br />
<br />
Oh man, it's only 2 p.m. It's going to be a long day...what to do, what to do...<br />
<br />
Well here's one thing I'll do, I'll share my pics with you all!<br />
<br />

<br />
I am totally stoked!<br />
<br />
I have been on a hunt for a new side table for my living room for quite some time now and everything I was coming across either<br />
<br />
1. I didn't like it.<br />
<br />
2. Ain't no way I'm paying that much for it! (Yes, I brought out the "ain't word for this one!")<br />
<br />
3. <em>Ain't no way</em> I'm paying that much for it!<br />
<br />
I'm cheap. <br />
<br />
I never even thought of going to a thrift store to find furniture and just redo it myself. That is until I clicked on a blog, which led to another, and then to 356 more. Then the light came on in that ole noggin of mine, <br />
<br />
"Kirby, get your butt down to the thrift sore and find you a piece of junk and do it yourself you crazy kid you!"<br />
<br />
So I did! <br />
<br />
I found me a side table for $15 bucks. All banged up and no knobs. Sounds like a winner to me! And the thing is heavy! It took 2 of us to get it into my trunk. But I sure was grinning the whole way home.<br />
<br />
Of course I couldn't wait, every time I walked out to my garage it was looking at me wanting to be <em>prettyfied</em> (not so sure that is a word, but I'll take it!) and in my house where it was warm! Saturday was actually half decent here, not to cold and the snow had melted so I went at it. <br />
<br />
I cleaned it up, I sanded, I primed, I painted, <span style="font-size: xx-small;">I drank a glass of wine while I waited</span>, I painted again, I attached my new knobs (my favorite part of it), and I moved her on in...and I cried tears of joy. Finally a side table, it won't be so dark in my living room anymore. One side table wasn't cutting it.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TTRc_680HuI/AAAAAAAAAjg/QSqUVRo378Y/s1600/sidetable1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="326" n4="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TTRc_680HuI/AAAAAAAAAjg/QSqUVRo378Y/s400/sidetable1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Please note: No, no one got hurt in this process, that is not blood, it is red spray paint for another little project I'll be showing you soon! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Once again, no one was shot in this process, even though a little birdie did leave me a little treasure on top it when I got back home and I was not to happy about it, I let it live...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Ok, another note...I don't kill little birdies...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TTRdDojakRI/AAAAAAAAAjk/wTTa7orWMtA/s1600/sidetable2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" n4="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TTRdDojakRI/AAAAAAAAAjk/wTTa7orWMtA/s400/sidetable2.jpg" width="298" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Looks like a little white puffy cloud kinda, I ran out of primer...</div><br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TTRdGLi_pBI/AAAAAAAAAjo/xAUjiDWSArQ/s1600/sidetable3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" n4="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TTRdGLi_pBI/AAAAAAAAAjo/xAUjiDWSArQ/s400/sidetable3.jpg" width="217" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">And here she is! (Go easy on me, my first time remember!) I was going to distress it a little bit, but then I kinda just like the clean look to it so I left it alone. I'm quite happy about it. And I can't wait to do more! I dream of thrift stores now! </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I have looked through so many blogs and am truly amazed what y'all do to them! A real inspiration if you ask me!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

<br />
I have completely legit excuses though. <br />
<br />
<em>As always.</em> <br />
<br />
My hubs tells me I'm the "Queen of Excuses", and I'm kinda starting to take him serious on this one, but then again, were all kinda full of excuses at one time or another. I tell him <em>"it is not excuses, it's the truth!" </em>He then rolls his eyes and walks out of the room. I act like I'm kicking him in the butt and go about with whatever it was I was doing. Simple as that.<br />
<br />
I don't know what it was about this past holiday but it wore me the heck out! I still feel like I cannot catch up, I actually still have not caught up now that I get to thinking about it. We still have presents in boxes that I have put on top of closets just to get it out of the middle of the floor, I finally managed to pick up the girls rooms so you could actually <em>see </em>their floors. I still have a load of whites to do from who knows when??? I did clean out my seasoning cabinet only because my grandma bought me a new spice rack and I was excited to chunk some of the old ones out. I cleaned out my medicine cabinet because I was tired of Tums and Melatonin bottles falling out every time I opened the door. (Why does the medicine cabinet get so out of control?) Granted, its the same place I keep bills and other useless stuff. Yep folks, thats where I'm at, bills are useless! Ha! I wish! I wont even get started on my linen closet. I'm just going at it one thing at a time, if I try to do it all at once in a couple of days time, I get pissy! Sad thing, but I was pretty thrilled to take down all of my Christmas decor this year, it made my house look clean and organized once again...until you look in the cabinets and closets that is. Oh well it will clean one day, someday. <br />
<br />
On top of all of this, we all got sick...again. First, Hayden, of course, she's a walking stomach bug. She started on Thursday night and then Hubs on Sunday a.m., Me-Sunday afternoon, and Riley-Sunday night. I felt like there was this green cloud over our house, you walk in that door and <em><strong>DING!</strong></em> your leaving throwing up! <br />
<br />
So I havent been cooking a whole lot the past week or so. Lots of chicken noodle soup, crackers, and 7-up. Great diet. Speaking of diets...I ate one oreo truffle and candy cane kiss too many in the past month. My pants are not happy with me! So when we got home from my parents house I threw them all out, every last one of them. I'm weak. If they are here looking at me, I will eat them! I'm kinda tearing up now thinking about it, <em>I NEED ONE! </em>Were snowed in to make matters even better. I won't even get into how cold it is. My nose and toes have been cold for hours now. Even with my socks and Uggs on, its not helping a whole lot. <br />
<br />
I'm off this weekend which I'm super excited about and I feel like thrifting!!!! I want to go check out all the thrift stores around here, Hubs actually likes going to those stores too, so that's my plan for this weekend. I have lots of things I want to do around this house. Hubs has a dresser that I HATE. It's just out dated, nothing really wrong with it, I just dont like it, so I'm going to do it over. Granted I have never repainted or redone any furniture so if any one has any tips, I'm all for it! I want to do our room over, its too dark. I want to brighten it up. Were going to move Riley back into her own room and move Sadie back in with Hayden sometime, so I'm going to do something different with Riley's room. I got a realy cute end table for 15 bucks this past weekend at a resale shop I go to. I'm sure the people that work their got a big kick out of me trying to squeeze that thing in my backseat with 3 carseats back there. I had an incredible nice choice of words going on as I was doing it! I smashed my finger, ok? It hurt! Lots of plans, feel like too little time, so I'm not going to stress, just get it done when I can. I need to get back to regular blogging again too. I miss you guys! So I'm back, I've breaked long enough! This was just a starter of ramblings to get me going again!<br />
<br />
See yall tomorrow!<br />

<br />
Is that even a word? Not so sure, but in my vocabulary it sure is! That's the first word that comes to mind when I take a bite out of this soup. The <em><strong>Bestest</strong></em>.<br />
<br />
It is cold here. I mean a bitter-10-degrees-cold. That's just ridiculous Mother Nature. <strong>Poo</strong> on you for the time being! I don't see how people up North can handle this kind of cold all of the time! When it's this cold out, you have to make soup just to warm you up. It's a rule. So I have one for ya to try out and to warm you up on days and nights like these!<br />

Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and let simmer 10-12 minutes, or until potatoes are tender. In the same pan you used for the onions melt your remaining 3 tbs of butter and add in your flour, stirring constantly to make a roux. Let this go for about 3-5 mintues stirring the whole time until thick. Add in with your soup and stir until all mixed throughout to thicken it up a bit. We don't want no runny soup here tonite! <br />
This is probably one of my favorite suppers now! I was feeling a little on the lazy side yesterday and was thinking okay, time to break out the crock pot and let it do the job for me! And did it ever! Luckily I had some country style ribs sitting in my freezer and I came across this recipe awhile back that I had saved. I found it over at <a href="http://crockpotrecipeexchange.blogspot.com/2010/10/smoky-apple-butter-ribs.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+CrockPotRecipeExchange+%28Crock+Pot+Recipe+Exchange%29">Crock Pot Recipe Exchange</a>. I had everything to make this and so that's just what I did! So easy and so so good! It really tasted like it had been on the smoker all day long but had that hint of Apple Butter in it. It ended up shredding up, but that's okay because I had a box of Near East Parmesan Couscous in my pantry so I just cooked some of that to go along with it. <br />
<br />
Hubs doesn't like couscous, I just love the stuff! There's nothing to it either to make it! I noticed after he ate, the couscous was still on his plate. I shoved it down the garbage disposal mumbling under my breath as I was doing it, I won't share with you the comment I made. He's a freak! How can you not like couscous, it's so....fun! Yea, we'll go with that. <br />
<br />
Alongside with the ribs and the couscous <strike>that my picky husband didn't touch </strike>I made green bean casserole and some Sister Schubert Dinner Rolls. God Bless that woman and her rolls! Those are the best darn rolls ever, shoot forget making em' homemade when they are that easy and good! I picked up a big package of them from Sam's the other day and I'm almost tempted to go stick some in the oven right now. Then I'd have to share with Hayden and Sadie and I don't feel like sharing today. Forget it, I'll go make me some toast. Maybe they won't hound me for that. I swear they eat 3 breakfasts every morning. Theirs, Mine, and whatever they can climb up in the pantry and find. I need to find me a lock for that door...maybe I'll do that today, I already have one on my fridge. (Mind you, it' also very irritating to try to open the door and forget theirs a lock on it.) <br />
<br />
But now back to my <em>awesome </em>dinner I'm bragging about today, it was nothing that I had to slave over and it tasted like I did! So you have GOT to try it! Please I beg of you...I did not change a thing, made it just like the recipe stated, the only thing I didn't do was make the gravy to go along with it because it was just right the way it was! Now the pic does not do it any justice but trust me on this one...<br />
<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">3 lbs boneless pork country style ribs (Mine was almost 3 1/2 lbs)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">3/4 tsp salt</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">1/2 tsp pepper</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">1 medium onion sliced</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">1/2 cup apple butter (Okay I think I added about a cup of this!)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">2 tbs packed brown sugar</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">1 tbs liquid smoke</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">2 cloves of garlic, minced</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Sprinkle ribs with salt and pepper. Spray your crock pot with non-stick spray and place your ribs inside of it. Top with onions. In a small bowl, mix remaining ingredients and pour over ribs and onions. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours. (That's all it took for mine) After the 8 hours, I just took 2 forks to it and shredded it right then and there. Serve by itself, with couscous, or rice.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"> I know what's for lunch...but now I need to go make me some toast and hide out.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

I really do. You can add them into so many meats, soups, casseroles and really get away with it. Almost. That is until your 5 year old sighs and says, "Eww beans again, I don't want this anymore!" and shoves her plate off to the side. <br />
<br />
That's when mean ole Mom says "I don't care, you will eat it or it goes to the dog and he can chow down on it and be happy and you will go to bed hungry because I refuse to make anything else!" <br />
<br />
or this one <em>really</em> gets her <br />
<br />
"Oh, look at Hayden eating her dinner with the beans in it, she's a big girl and she gets whatever dessert she wants after dinner!" Hayden then precedes to look at her and laugh.<br />
<br />
That usually does it! <br />
<br />
She'll put on her pouty face and scoot her plate back in front of her and try to argue with, "Well what if I eat 5 more bites, then I get dessert?" I roll my eyes and say fine. I don't have the energy to argue with it anymore. Brat...<br />
<br />
So even though I do add beans to alot of my dinners and even through the complaining, this is one recipe right here that she will gladly eat every time. All of them do actually. Even baby Sadie does, or she wears it, I can't exactly tell which one she does. I wanted some baked beans one day but alot of beans always calls for some type of bacon or meat in it and I didn't have any so I started just putting a little bit of this and that into a bowl, baked it and was actually kinda surprised how well it turned out. You still get the smokey flavor in it as if I did add some bacon in with it and that's what I like! Plus its super cheap to make and a perfect side to anything!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TP_Msc0f1iI/AAAAAAAAAjQ/0JfLC9-vMTw/s1600/beans.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" n4="true" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TP_Msc0f1iI/AAAAAAAAAjQ/0JfLC9-vMTw/s400/beans.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
I used a 28 oun can of Great Value Pork and Beans and then 1 (15 oun) of the same kind of beans for this. So <strong>43</strong> ounces of Baked Pork and Beans! Ok it's all I had in my pantry, okay?<br />
3/4 cup BBQ sauce<br />
1 small onion, chopped<br />
3 tbs prepared yellow mustard<br />
2 tbs brown sugar<br />
1 tbs liquid smoke (A must, trust me!)<br />
1 tbs garlic powder<br />
1 tsp oregano<br />
1 tsp ground black pepper<br />
<br />
Set your oven to 325. In a large bowl combine all of your ingredients (Do not drain the beans) Spray your casserole dish. (I use this medium size oval circle bowl, any medium size dish would work) Pour your beans into it and pop it into the oven. Now this is kinda the pain in the butt part. Your going to cook it for a total of 2 hours but every 20-25 minutes give it a quick stir. Do I always remember to do it every 20 minutes? Nope, then I run into the kitchen and beans have exploded everywhere. I'm kidding. But it just keeps them from sticking to much, I don't even take them out of the oven, just stir and close the door back up! After 2 hours take them out, stir again and let sit for a couple of minutes or you could chance burning your tongue off. Whichever. <br />
<br />
I happen to need my tongue to stick out at my children. <br />
<br />
I'm such a mature mother that teaches my kids such great things that they will carry with them throughout life. <br />

Because I can't figure out if it's more of a chili or more of a soup so I figured I would let yall decide on that one! But I can tell you it's dang good and it's filling! And super easy, basically you just dump everything into the pot and ta da...done in thirty! I threw in a loaf of frozen garlic bread in the oven to serve with it and I don't think I could have eaten it without it. This is perfect for a cold night and when you just don't feel like making a crust for a pizza but still want pizza...<br />
<br />
Does that make any sense???<br />
<br />
Ok yes that's what I thought.<br />

<strong><em>laxsupermom!!!! </em></strong>Congrats!!!<br />

She said:<br />

<em>This year, in this economy, I'm most thankful that my wonderful hubs still has a job that affords me the luxury of staying home with my kids every day. </em><br />
<br />
I sent you an email! Enjoy shopping!!!<br />
<br />
We didn't make it home with any leftovers from Thanksgiving....<em>grrr....</em>That's the best part! So I had actually bought a turkey the week before for really cheap and we thawed that sucker out and made our own turkey on Sunday! With plenty of leftovers! We actually kinda had a little feast of our own. Everything turned out great! This was only my second time of making a turkey and I get nervous making one because I think of "Christmas Vacation" where "Clark" goes to cut the turkey and it splits in half because it is so dried out, one of my favorite movies of all time I might add, but fortunately it hasn't happened to me...yet. I found this recipe off of Allrecipes last year and I love it, I did not change a thing! The rosemary makes your whole house smell so good! And there isn't alot to it either. It makes for one darn good turkey!<br />

</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Ok I have waaayy to much time on my hands today...</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Anyways, here is the way to make a Rosemary Turkey.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TPZkxqebJ9I/AAAAAAAAAjE/7xgbujTX5rw/s1600/turkey.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="296" ox="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TPZkxqebJ9I/AAAAAAAAAjE/7xgbujTX5rw/s400/turkey.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">3/4 cup olive oil</div><div style="text-align: center;"></div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">3 tablespoons minced garlic</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">2 tablespoons chopped fresh rosemary</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">1 tablespoon Italian seasoning</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">1 teaspoon ground black pepper</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">salt to taste</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">1 (12 pound) whole turkey</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Preheat oven to 325.In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, garlic, rosemary, basil, Italian seasoning, black pepper and salt. Set aside. Wash the turkey inside and out; pat dry. Remove any large fat deposits. Loosen the skin from the breast. This is done by slowly working your fingers between the breast and the skin. Work it loose to the end of the drumstick, being careful not to tear the skin. Using your hand, spread a generous amount of the rosemary mixture under the breast skin and down the thigh and leg. Rub the remainder of the rosemary mixture over the outside of the breast. Use toothpicks to seal skin over any exposed breast meat. Place the turkey on a rack in a roasting pan. Add about 1/4 inch of water to the bottom of the pan. Roast in the preheated oven 3 to 4 hours, or until the internal temperature of the bird reaches 180. </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Pure Awesomeness right there! Make sure to save some of the broth to make your own gravy out of it!</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Alright gotta go dig a whole roll of toilet paper out of the toilet now, yall have a great day! That dang Oompa Loompa Santa Baby Freak has stuck once again....<br />

Mine was good except...<br />
<br />
I got sick. <br />
<br />
Well of course, you forget my house is cursed with sickness all the way around! All I know is I went over to my in-laws house and was feeling just fine and by the time I left my throat was sore and I had no voice! It's probably because I was <em>at my in-laws! Du, du,du, dummmmm.</em><br />
<br />
I'm kidding! <br />
<br />
I'm totally blaming it on work, the night before I was working and there were kids coming in with snot faces so it was one of them, I should go hunt them down and give them a Kleenex and tell them to quit getting me sick! And to wipe their boogers! I'm pretty sure it was just a sinus infection, my voice is still cutting out and sounding hoarse and now I'm coughing. Ya know the worst thing is waking up in the middle of the night coughing so hard you feel like your choking. I woke up at 4:30 a.m. with a cough drop still in my mouth. Good thing I didn't choke, huh? I was desperate to stop, even if it meant choking on a cough drop while I'm sleeping. I didn't do the whole Black Friday thing, but I did have to go to Walmart Friday afternoon to get medicine and still managed to put a printer, Tupperware dishes, "The Notebook" movie and Peppermint body wash in my basket. It's amazing what I go in for and come out with! <br />
<br />
Off my sickness and shopping habits now and on to my chimis! I had one of those nights last week where I was searching in the pantry for something, anything, or whatever! Jeff was over at a friends house watching football and I was bored so why not come up with something to cook up? I started grabbing things out of the freezer, fridge and pantry and came out with this:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TPQbtwvv2jI/AAAAAAAAAi0/3YKo3qiXt4o/s1600/chimi.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="326" ox="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TPQbtwvv2jI/AAAAAAAAAi0/3YKo3qiXt4o/s400/chimi.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />
<div style="text-align: center;">Here's what you'll need:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">1 lb ground turkey (or beef) cooked and drained</div><div style="text-align: center;">1 lb pork sausage cooked and drained</div><div style="text-align: center;">1 onion, chopped small</div><div style="text-align: center;">1 can cream of potato soup (used Campbell's)</div><div style="text-align: center;">1 (6 oun) can green chili's, drained</div><div style="text-align: center;">1 tsp chili powder</div><div style="text-align: center;">1 tsp garlic powder</div><div style="text-align: center;">1/2 tsp cumin</div><div style="text-align: center;">1 tsp each salt and pepper</div><div style="text-align: center;">cheese</div><div style="text-align: center;">tortillas (I think I was able to get 10 chimis, soft taco size torts)</div><div style="text-align: center;">vegetable oil</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Garnish:</div><div style="text-align: center;">Lettuce</div><div style="text-align: center;">Sour Cream</div><div style="text-align: center;">Hot Sauce</div><div style="text-align: center;">Cheese</div><div style="text-align: center;">Or whatever else makes you go pitter patter</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;">Cook your meats and onion together until done, drain. Add in your cream of potato soup, green chili's, and seasonings. Stir around until heated through. Lay out your flour tortilla on your counter and put some of your mix in the middle of the tort, top with some cheese and fold in the corners on all side to make a pocket. If it won't fold together and wants to come undone, you have it to full, so take a little bit out until it does all close up. It should look like this:</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TPQdrhE1RhI/AAAAAAAAAi4/FwYVv9Y9HlY/s1600/chimi2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="291" ox="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TPQdrhE1RhI/AAAAAAAAAi4/FwYVv9Y9HlY/s400/chimi2.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Do this until all the mixture is done, or if you have little ones like me, I saved enough for a quesadilla and just put the meat mix and cheese on some tort's and they chowed it down! A little easier to eat for a 1 and 2 year old! Heat a little bit of oil, enough to cover the bottom of a skillet, on medium until heated up. Place your chimi in the pan seam side down first for about a minute or until golden brown, flip and do the same thing to the other side and repeat with all of them until done. Top with whatever you like and there ya go! Easy homemade chimi's! The sausage in it really did make it taste really good and the chunks of potato from the soup-even better. I wish I had one right now actually. I might be making these again sometime this week, they were that good! </div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TPQf2ZamRsI/AAAAAAAAAi8/6DFEaUS6maw/s1600/chimi3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" ox="true" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TPQf2ZamRsI/AAAAAAAAAi8/6DFEaUS6maw/s400/chimi3.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Already! That's crazy! It seems like I was just scarfing down the kids Halloween candy....<br />
<br />
Oh wait, I <em>still</em> am....what's left of it anyways.<br />
<br />
I did my grocery shopping last night. No way was I taking 3 kids to Walmart the day before Thanksgiving. You couldn't pay me enough to do that. Crazy people come out with their 2-3 cart fulls and might run me down! <br />
<br />
My kids need me in their life. Not run down by a grocery cart. <br />
<br />
Were going over to my in-laws for Thanksgiving this year so the only thing I am taking is my <a href="http://tabledancing.blogspot.com/2010/09/creamy-mac-n-cheese.html">Mac n' Cheese</a> and my family's Sweet Potato Casserole. (It should be illegal, it's that good!) and some Mashed Potatoes, or as Riley calls them "Tatoes. So I thought I would let yall in on how I make mine. I really don't think you can wrong with any mashed potatoes, there's nothing to them, but I could eat bowl fulls of it. Literally. It's one of my Top 10 favorite things to eat! I actually take a blender to mine to make them that much more creamier. I don't even have to have gravy with them. I like the texture better, but that's my opinion, and its a Free Country so I'm entitled!<br />
<br />
<em>Kidding...</em><br />
<br />
So if you would rather just mash yours with your masher, go right on ahead, I'll turn my head and pretend I don't see you doing it!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TO0wNKyoWxI/AAAAAAAAAis/rPwf4wvw2xw/s1600/tatoes.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="300" ox="true" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TO0wNKyoWxI/AAAAAAAAAis/rPwf4wvw2xw/s400/tatoes.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">5-6 large baking potatoes</div><div align="center">1 can (10 oun) evaporated milk</div><div align="center">4 tbs butter (or more if ya like!)</div><div align="center">Plenty of salt and pepper</div><div align="center">Water (Who knew?)</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">Peel your potatoes and cute them in little small pieces. They just cook more evenly and better that way. Put your diced potatoes in a large pot and feel with water, at least a couple of inches above the potatoes. Boil until your spoon cuts right thru them easy. (About 20-25 minutes or so) Drain your water. Put your butter in the pot to start melting as your draining the potatoes. Add in your potatoes. Start adding in your salt and pepper. Really I'm leaving this one up to yall on how much. I like mine to be a little salty, not alot but enough to tell their is some in their. I have to taste it a couple of times before I know when to stop. Take out your mixer and start blending your 'tatoes on medium speed. Gradually add in your evaporated milk. I never use the whole can I do it until I think it's the right consistency. Creamy just as creamy can be!</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">That's their is to it. Not a whole lot, how can something this easy be so good? I don't know! The biggest pain the butt part is the peeling and cutting!</div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">Riley came home with this the last Friday on her last day of school before her break and the teacher gave me a heads up that I was going to find something in her backpack really amusing. I took it out and laughed. And laughed. And laughed some more. I think my child is on to something here. She's only 5 and to me that's pretty good for a 5 year old to think of some of the things she said. So get ready and take notes on </div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center"><span style="font-size: large;"><strong><u>How to Roast a Turkey</u></strong></span></div><div align="center"><strong>(In a 5 year old's point of view!)</strong></div><div align="center"><br />

<div align="center">Now I can't say I will be following these instructions, but it is something I will keep for life! </div><div align="center"><br />
</div><div align="center">Hope all of you have an absolutely wonderful Thanksgiving day! I have so much to be thankful for this year and every year! Eat lots of turkey and then go take a nap!</div><div align="center"><br />

This was one of those that jumped out at me and said, <em>"Make me, Make me...Tonight!"</em> <br />
<br />
So that's just what I did. <br />
<br />
I sent hubs to the store to get what I needed and went to town making this. The recipe came from <a href="http://www.lanascooking.com/2009/09/28/pecan-cheesecake-pie/comment-page-1/#comment-13081">Never Enough Thyme</a> and she got it out of Southern Living. It tuned out wonderful! I love cheesecake and I love pecan pie so these two were made for each other and made for me! I thought I would share this with yall in time for Thanksgiving! Even if you don't make it for Thanksgiving you have to give this one a try!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TOv3F6shkCI/AAAAAAAAAio/ymd0EiyHHAk/s1600/pecan+pie.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="297" ox="true" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_lOUZQgiLhX8/TOv3F6shkCI/AAAAAAAAAio/ymd0EiyHHAk/s400/pecan+pie.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><strong><u><span style="font-size: large;">Pecan Cheesecake Pie</span></u></strong></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">1 9in pie crust (I used a Great Value refrigerated one, don't hate on me!)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">1 (8 oun) cream cheese, softened</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">4 large eggs, divided</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">3/4 cup sugar, divided</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">2 tsp vanilla extract, divided</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">1/4 tsp salt</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">1 1/4 cup chopped pecans (I used 1 1/2)</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">1 cup light corn syrup</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Heat oven to 350. Fit your pie crust in your pie dish according to directions. Fold edges over. Combine the cream cheese, 1 egg, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 tsp. vanilla, and salt. Beat at medium speed until smooth. Pour the cream cheese mixture in the pie crust. Try to keep your finger from dipping in it. Sprinkle the chopped pecans evenly over the cheesecake filling until covered. In another bowl, combine the remaining 1/4 cup sugar, corn syrup, 3 eggs and 1 tsp of vanilla. Whisk until it is all combined. Pour the mixture over the pecans, slowly. Place the pie on a baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees on the lowest rack for 50-55 minutes. (Every one's oven is different, it actually took mine about 1 hour and 10 minutes before it was done. I put a piece of foil over the top of it after 55 minutes to keep from browning anymore on top) Cool completely for 1 hour on a wire rack. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Top with cool whip if that's your kind of thing, it's mine, but I was out. Dang it!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">You can serve it immediately or cover and chill up to 2 days, but seriously there was no way I could cover up this pie and wait to eat it! I was lucky I could restrain myself the hour it took to cool off. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />
</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">I'm weak. So weak. </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Laundry is not disappearing the way I want it too. <br />
<br />
I can definitely tell you that since Riley is home all week long on Thanksgiving break, 24.5 arguments have already broke out between all of us. <br />
<br />
I can definitely tell you that I want to hide underneath my bed and not come out until hubs gets home from work. <br />
<br />
I can also definitely tell you that flowers do not belong up my 2 year olds nose.<br />
<br />
I was walking out to my mailbox to grab the mail and of course Hayden followed me out the front door, so while I'm trying to drag her back into the house, she managed to grab what little flowers I do still have left that have not yet died. I'm still griping at her because she's trying to knock over my scarecrow and I finally managed to get her little body into the house and lock the door. Ok, good that's done with, now I can go finish up folding the laundry. I wasn't even done taking the clothes out of the drier yet when I heard this shrill scream coming from her and Riley. <br />
<br />
<strong><em>SERIOUSLY????</em></strong><br />
<br />
I stomp back into the living room and it's like a dang bomb or something went off. Riley is screaming and jumping up and down, <br />
<br />
<strong>"Hayden stuck a flower up her nose! Hayden stuck a flower up her nose!"</strong><br />
<br />
Hayden is screaming <strong>"flowwa in nose! flowwa in nose!"</strong><br />
<br />
I'm screaming <strong>"What the <em>hell </em>where you thinking?"</strong> (Ok, sorry I was mad!)<br />
<br />
So I layed her down, she's still screaming and crying and I see this flower lodged way up into her nose. <em>Great. Just freaking wonderful.</em> I am <strong>NOT</strong> going back up to that doctors office to get a flower out of my child's nose. Nope, not gonna do it. You can't make me!<br />
<br />
I went and got the tweezers, by this time her nose is bleeding. Riley is still freaking out. I'm grossing out. Hayden is screaming. Well and I guess I was freaking out a little bit, okay? I mean really, I don't do well in situations like this. Jeff is much better at being calm than me. <br />
<br />
I won't ever admit that to him. <br />
<br />
So once again I'm holding Hayden down with the tweezers to her nose. Tried that. And failed. Still have a flower stuck up the nose. <br />
<br />
I love Google? Don't you?<br />
<br />
That's what I did next, I Googled!<br />
<br />
<u>"How to get something out of your <strike>brats</strike> toddlers nose" </u><br />
<br />
About 11,600,000 results came up. <br />
<br />
Ok good, I'm not the only crazed parent Googling this subject obviously. I found what I was looking for. I wasn't so sure I could pull it off or if it would even work, but why not give it a shot, it's better than loading them all up and heading up to the doc's!<br />
<br />
The scenario was this:<br />
<blockquote></blockquote><blockquote></blockquote><blockquote> I went into the living room where Hayden was picking her nose and whining. I rolled my eyes. I picked her up and layed her down on the floor. I was pretty much on top of her to hold down her legs, my knees on her arms to hold them down (Thank goodness no one saw me doing this, they probably would be thinking I was strangling my child!) I pressed her left nostril in (the flower was in the right one) opened her mouth, leaned in and put my mouth over hers and blew as hard as I could.</blockquote>The flower flew out...<br />
<br />
and <strong>STUCK TO MY CHEEK!!!</strong><br />
<br />
<em>I FREAKED! </em><br />
<br />
<em>How GROSS is that, a snot stuck flower is on my dang cheek!!!!!</em><br />
<br />
Then I laughed uncontrollably. I couldn't stop laughing because I mean seriously??? I think I was most impressed that it actually worked! Whoever came up with that plan of action is a GENIUS! Needless to say, if it ever happens again, hopefully not, I now know what to do! Hayden and Riley were looking at me like I was some circus freak. <br />
<br />
Child....You had better love me and remember this when your a teenager. I just saved your nose. <br />
